Quality Awareness
The first step of the Quality Management Process is to ensure that our suppliers thoroughly understand the background, functions, and goals of a quality-driven corporate culture.
Quality Standards and Measurements
The heart of Air Products' Quality Management Process is the ability to meet requirements based on our customers' expectations . . . requirements that have been clearly defined and mutually agreed to in advance.
Feedback and Rating
As part of Air Products' Quality Management Process, supplier conformance to requirements and expectations is evaluated. Nonconformance is reported when it occurs so that it may be corrected and prevented. Positive performance is also reported to encourage and recognize achievement. Delivery performance information is tracked. All suppliers whose raw materials, supplies, or services have been approved for use at an Air Products site are expected to achieve high-quality results to maintain their business position with Air Products.
A formal rating system is used for key suppliers.
- Not Certified – The quality process is not implemented.
- Qualifying – There is a formal commitment to quality, but the process is not yet implemented.
- Certified – Most of the agreed-upon requirements are met, but the quality process is only partially implemented. The supplier is working toward and committed to achieving a preferred rating.
- Preferred – The quality process is fully implemented. All key requirements are being met.
