Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. has been validated in the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Program. As a participant in this voluntary program, we have made a firm commitment to enhance the security of goods moving through our international supply chain and to communicate the importance of security procedures to our suppliers. We recognize that security is an integral part of our everyday business and take our role in supply chain security very seriously. We understand our responsibility to protect customer property as well as our own personnel, facilities, and the environment.
As a valued supplier to Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., your support of C-TPAT is critical to the realization of our objectives and to the cooperative endeavor between U.S. importers and CBP. In addition, CBP expects foreign suppliers of imported goods to scrutinize or, where necessary, develop sufficient security measures within their own supply chain. Accordingly, we ask that each of our supply chain business partners take a few moments to help us better understand your security programs by completing the brief questionnaire at the link below. Completion of this questionnaire will allow us to confirm that you have security measures in place that safeguard against theft of products and/or the introduction of unauthorized materials into the products or product packaging while in the supply chain.
As part of our C-TPAT implementation, we are posting additional links to the CBP website “C-TPAT Best Practices Catalog,” which outlines the guidelines for your consideration and use in enhancing your security measures in the following areas:
- Procedural Security (Document processing, Manifesting procedures, Shipping & receiving, Cargo discrepancies)
- Information Technology (Password protection, Security accountability)
- Security Training & Threat Awareness (Awareness reporting procedures)
- Business Partner Requirements (Security procedures, Port of origin, Participation/certification in foreign customs administration supply chain security programs)
- Container Security (Container inspection, Container seals (PAS ISO 17712), Container storage)
- Physical Security (Fencing, Gates, Locking devices, Alarm systems)
- Physical Access Controls (Employees, Visitors, Deliveries)
- Personnel Security (Pre-employment verification, Background checks, Personnel termination)
> Complete the Questionnaire

We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and request that your company join us in our efforts to improve our supply chain integrity by embracing the C-TPAT initiatives and complying with them to the best of your company’s ability. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
