The CDP Experience
When you join the CDP program, you will begin the first of three different assignments, lasting 8-12 months each. Right from the start, you will work on challenging assignments. You will be expected to produce results, generate ideas and make a real contribution. Naturally, we will give you the support you need to do this successfully. We are committed to providing you with an environment in which you can learn, grow and develop.

The regional CDP Councils play an important role in the CDP experience. The councils organize a variety of events throughout the year to encourage interaction within the CDP community during and outside the work day. It provides chances for CDPs to create a network comprised of people with roles and experiences similar to yours. Council activities can include:
- Community service projects
- Outings including picnics and sporting events
- Professional development seminars
Former CDPs can be found in significant roles throughout Air Products. Many past and current leaders of Air Products have joined the company through the Career Development Program.

We usually visit campuses in the fall and late winter to interview for both full-time and internship positions. Normally this includes an information session or company presentation before the interviews to familiarize students with our business and rotational development programs. Our on-campus dates vary widely so it's best to contact your Career Services office for information on our next visit to your school.
Developing Your Career
We encourage you to take an active role in influencing the direction of your career. That is an integral part of our company's career development philosophy overall and the Career Development Program. CDP participants develop their skills and interests through a rotation of three different assignments, during the first two to three years of employment. As a CDP, you along with your mentor, will explore opportunities while on the program and ultimately determine a career path.
Career and personal development of employees is a vital part of our business strategy. As a result, all CDPs receive broad-based on-the-job training. We encourage you to obtain professional qualifications or certifications. You will be offered a wide range of internal courses covering technical, interpersonal and leadership topics. Where appropriate, external courses are supported.
Air Products University- Leads our company's continual learning efforts with its 11 colleges to provide a wide range of development opprtunities including training for safety, products and other relevant topics.
