We advise you to spend some time researching what Air Products does, where we operate, what our goals and priorities are, what innovations and developments we are working on at present. You can do this via our website, social media, blogs, and by speaking with our employees – the more prepared you are, the better equipped you will be at answering our questions throughout the process.

Apply sooner to avoid disappointment
We open our graduate applications in September and expect to close applications in early December. However, we strongly advise to apply as soon as possible, as we may receive sufficient number of applications in advance of the deadline and will therefore close applications sooner.
Know your strengths
It is of course important for us that you have a basic knowledge and understanding of your subject matter, however we also look for graduates who are well rounded in their approach to life and work. When providing examples of your skills and competencies, think about these from your educational, extra-curricular, working, voluntary, sports or clubs perspective. University is not just about gaining the qualification, but learning to time manage, lead, solve problems and adapt – echoed in the working environment too. So if you can show us your breadth, we will build on your depth!
Make sure we are right for you
Not every company is a right fit for each graduate. Not everybody wants to join a graduate programme where assignments change every twelve months. Make sure you understand what your entry level options are and how we are different to other employers that you may be considering, before applying to our graduate programme.
Ask for feedback
We appreciate how much time and effort is put into each application therefore it’s understandable that you may be disappointed if you do not pass all the stages in the selection process. Although we are not able to provide individual feedback until the assessment centre stage, we encourage unsuccessful candidates to request feedback at this stage of the process to help you learn and develop yourself. If you decide to apply for our programme the following year, this will also show us your determination and passion to join our organization – make sure you work on the development points first though!

Each university has a dedicated careers service team who is happy to support its students to find the right employment opportunities for them. We work closely with many universities across the UK and the European continent who know what skills we look for – from the CV stage to the assessment centre step.
