Air Products has had a long history of product innovation driven by emerging trends and customer needs. In fact, we have been developing environmental and energy solutions for our customers for 75 years.
Our strategy for responding to climate change is straightforward—identify opportunities where these core technology and product strengths can bring cost-effective solutions to major markets while minimizing impacts of a carbon-constrained energy supply on our operations through continued technology innovation, energy efficiency and diversity of energy sources. Our GHG Center of Excellence, in conjunction with our Sustainability Leadership Council, fosters exploration of new markets and technologies.
|Hydrogen fueling infrastructure
||Having engineered more than 160 hydrogen fueling stations around the world, we are working with auto manufacturers and energy companies to pursue the most viable options to bridge to the future hydrogen economy.
|Oxygen for integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) facilities
| Air Products has championed new designs and approaches for the large oxygen plants vital in gasification facilities that maximize efficiency, lower plant cost, shrink schedules and minimize construction risk.
|CO2 capture and purification technologies
|| Leveraging our existing competencies and collaborating with leading companies, governments and universities around the world, we are developing a suite of specialized CO2 capture technologies to enable cost effective and environmentally sound CO2 capture, purification and compression that will be suitable for various forms of geological storage. Our focus is on providing solutions for natural gas reforming, gasification and new-build oil-fired and coal-fired power plants as well as providing solutions for retrofitting the large installed base of existing coal-fired assets.
|Advanced natural gas liquefaction
|| LNG is an important and clean-burning fuel, and our efficient natural gas liquefaction processes and equipment are reducing GHG emissions at a key point in the LNG supply chain.
|Advanced performance materials
|| Performance Materials, like our epoxies, produce stronger, lighter wind turbine blades for zero-emission wind power. And our high-performance foam-in-place catalysts provide for lower-GHG polyurethane foam spray for building insulation, providing a 15-50% reduction in heating/cooling energy consumption of the typical new single family home.
