IGCC Gasification/Power JV‒Jazan
Michael Sicinski is executive director of Air Products’ IGCC gasification/power joint venture with Saudi Aramco and ACWA Power at Jazan Economic City in Saudi Arabia. He is responsible for leading the Air Products/ACWA Power site team in integrating the world’s largest IGCC facility into the JV, where Air Products will have majority ownership.
Mr. Sicinski joined Air Products in 1981 as a participant in the company’s Career Development Program with engineering assignments in cryogenic hydrocarbons. He was named project engineer‒Operations in 1983; assistant plant manager for
Air Products’ air separation plant in Convent, Louisiana, in 1987; and lead development engineer for its Energy and Environmental Division in 1989. From 1996-2010 Mr. Sicinski held a variety of process systems engineering and management positions in the HyCO group before being named process technology manager/global startup manager for HyCO in 2010 and process technology manager for HyCO and Energy in 2014. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Sicinski served as director, Process Gases Product Line, where he directed the new business engineering for gasification, HyCO, helium, CO2, liquid hydrogen and cryogenic hydrocarbons.
Mr. Sicinski holds BS and MS degrees in chemical engineering from Lehigh University. In his community, he serves on the board of directors of KayBrook Green Hills Swim Club and the Tau Alpha Kappa Alumni Association of Lehigh University.
