The European Industrial Gas Association (EIGA) has recognised Air Products, which has two air separation units in Stallingborough, for its excellent safety performance and singled out its UK operations as the best in Europe.
The company has also been recognised by EIGA for its safety performance at nine individual facilities across Europe, through their Gold, Bronze and Silver awards.
Sites at Stade (Germany), Siewierz (Poland), Amsterdam (Holland) and Stallingborough (UK) received prestigious Gold awards, which recognise Air Products’ continued efforts in operational safety. The awards represent 20 years without any employee loss-time incidents or 1 million employee hours worked.
In addition, Air Products’ sites in Dublin (Ireland) ), Tres Cantos (Spain) and Rotterdam (The Netherlands) received Silver awards, which represent ten years without any lost time incidents or 500,000 employee hours worked. The sites Sevilla (Spain) and Dresden (Germany) both received EIGA’s Bronze awards for five years without lost time incidents.
Mark Begg, director of Environment, Health, Safety and Quality, Air Products Europe, commented, "We are very proud of the teams at these sites for their achievements. A lot of commitment and respect for safety in the workplace is required for operational facilities to reach such milestones without an employee lost time incident. Year on year we make tremendous efforts to continually improve safety at all our sites; not just for the benefit of our colleagues, but for the benefit and safety of the communities in which we operate."
