Air Products has named Howard Castle-Smith as regional vice president– Tonnage Gases, Europe and Middle East. He succeeds Richard Boocock, who has moved to a new position as vice president, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. Most recently, Castle-Smith served as regional vice president – Tonnage Gases, Asia where he played a major role in building Air Products’ tonnage asset base in China.
In his new role, Castle-Smith will be responsible for the leadership, development and implementation of business strategy for Air Products’ Tonnage Gases business in Europe and the Middle East.
Castle-Smith joined Air Products in 1985 as a proposal engineer in London, U.K. He subsequently held various domestic and international positions within the Industrial Gases Division, including general manager, Tonnage Gases in Rotterdam.
