News ReleaseLocal Charity Receives a Cash Boost From Award Winning Employees

November 06, 2008 Lehigh Valley, Pa.

Local employees at Air Products have received a company award and donate the winnings to local charity The Petty Pool Trust.

Air Products rewarded their employees and their chosen charities for their charitable efforts through the first ever Charitable Excellence Awards held at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester as a VIP event.

Bronze award winners were the UK and Ireland Healthcare Team whose ongoing activity with The Petty Pool Trust impressed the judges immensely. £250 prize money will be donated to The Petty Pool Trust, the charity of their choice with a tree also being planted in the name of the short listed.

This year, the team has been supporting The Petty Pool Trust in two ways including Practical hands-on support to improve the centre’s facilities and holding off-site team meetings at the centre.

Peter Evans MBE, Chief Executive of the Petty Pool Trust commented; “Air Products has been a real inspiration and because of the help we have received we are now able to firmly be on the map in Cheshire. We are very pleased to have been chosen as Air Products charity and the money used will help go towards the education of young people at the centre.”

All the activity is part of a plan to build a long term relationship with Petty Pool. Further visits are planned in the coming months to carry out maintenance projects, including painting the centre’s buildings.

Jay Shingler, UK and Ireland Healthcare Communications Associate, commented; “ Our support and work with PP has just started and we look forward to many happy and productive days in the future ”
