April 09, 2009 Lehigh Valley, Pa.
Easter Sunday, 12th April 2009 sees South Cheshire Harriers’ popular 10K race move to a new location providing a course that promises to be the fastest road race in Cheshire. With minimal elevation, the majority of the route follows wide pathways making it safe for experienced and inexperienced runners alike. A 5K race will also be available for fun runners wishing to walk rather than run!
Corporate Sponsors Air Products’ Crewe office will be the new starting and finishing point for the popular annual race.
Despite the recent economic climate the event organisers and corporate sponsors were able to pull together to provide a suitable solution for all.
A number of runners will be from Air Products themselves with all their proceeds going towards local charity Hope House.
Alison Marsh, Fundraising Manager at Hope House Children's Hospices commented; “It is great the amount of support we have received from Air Products.”
Simon Walker from the Cheshire Harriers added; “Without Air Products co-operation and support we would not be able to hold this race this race this year – a big thank you goes to Air Products in Crewe and hopefully this race will be the best yet. In recent years the number of entrants for the 10k race has grown steadily and now stands around the 300 mark, although with this years’ race also incorporating the Cheshire Championships, a maximum entry could well be the case.”
