Air Products has completed the installation of two onsite PRISM® generation systems at Toray Industries’ production facility in France, as part of a move to drive efficiency and provide a reliable source of nitrogen.
A leading global biotech and polymer manufacturing business, Toray Industries develops thermoplastic compounds, which are used to manufacture high performance plastics for the food packaging industry. Nitrogen is used to create a reduced-oxygen atmosphere, which is needed to minimise the risk of fire and to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
After assessing the plant’s gas requirements Air Products has installed two PRISM® HPN generators with an associated oxygen monitoring and control system. A detailed Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) assessment of the gas generation solution was also completed to comply with EU food hygiene regulations. Having two gas generation systems onsite brings added peace of mind that sufficient supplies of nitrogen are constantly available.
Stephane Denis-Delobel, Air Products’ Bulk Sales Manager, France, said:
“Having a source of nitrogen onsite is not only a cost-efficient solution for many moderate and high volume users, it also brings significant peace of mind by ensuring that gas supplies are continuously available, throughout the day and night.
“By opting for a bespoke gas generation solution, Toray Industries is demonstrating its uncompromising approach to health and safety management.”
