Three Air Products divisions joined forces to exhibit at the 1st Middle East Turbomachinery Symposium (METS) in Doha, Qatar earlier this year.
Turbomachinery is a mechanical engineering term that describes machines, including compressors and turbines, which transfer energy from a rotor to a fluid. The METS event, organised by the Turbomachinery Laboratory at Texas A&M University, addresses global issues related to the purchasing, installation, operation and maintenance of turbomachinery. It combines world-class technical conferences with an international exhibition, offering industry leaders a forum to share ideas, exchange technical knowledge and discuss ongoing industry-related issues.
CryoMachinery, Customer Plant Support (CPS) and Liquid Natural Gas (LNG), all Air Products divisions, teamed up to capitalise and mutually benefit from each other’s expertise at the symposium:
- CryoMachinery has designed and manufactured cryogenic and warm gas centrifugal turbomachinery used in refrigeration and power recovery applications since 1943. It also offers full aftermarket support covering repairs, spares, rerates and global support.
- CPS offers a comprehensive portfolio of services and solutions to optimize performance. Its expertise covers engineering; maintenance and operation services; equipment modifications and spare parts.
- LNG is the worldwide provider of process technology and equipment for the liquefaction of natural gas in plants ranging from small peak shavers through mid-range and large base load applications.
More than 1,000 hands-on users, manufacturers, buyers and developers from the oil and gas, petrochemical and power generation industries from 35 countries attended the event, and the three divisions combined to present compelling and appropriate turbomachinery solutions.
