Air Products (NYSE:APD), a leading global supplier of gases, materials, equipment and technology solutions, has recently been chosen as China Top 100 IDEAL™ Employers 2013 by a group of university students majoring in natural sciences. Students rated Air Products in the 2013 WetFeet Career Test (also known as Universum student survey), which is the largest-scale student survey for career and employer preference ever in China. Air Products ranks No. 79.
The survey was organized by the China Daily’s 21st Century English Newspaper and independently conducted by Universum, a global talent company specializing in employer branding. Over 64,000 students in the fields of natural sciences, business, engineering, law, humanities/liberal arts, and health/medicine from more than 100 top universities across China participated. The results of the survey reveal how students perceive organizations as employers in China.
Air Products also ranks No. 3 in “environmental sustainability” in the survey among natural sciences students, indicating its strong association with this attribute in the minds of the group.
“We feel honored to make the list of China Top 100 IDEAL™ Employers, which is a testimony to our attractiveness to young science students as an employer of choice,” said Stephen J. Jones, senior vice president and general manager, Tonnage Gases, Equipment and Energy, and China president, Air Products. “Talent development is a key component of Air Products’ company strategy. We have been working closely with universities and associations to cultivate talent in many ways, including research and development efforts, best practice and knowledge transfer, scholarships, internship programs and career development programs at Air Products. We look forward to their participation and contribution to build a more sustainable community.”
“As the competition for talent has grown stiffer over the years with the employment market increasingly becoming a level-playing field in China, every company is working hard to be viewed as an employer of choice,” said William Wu, vice president of Universum, Asia Pacific as he commended Air Products for this year’s achievements. ”Air Products has done a great job in maintaining its strong employer brand, as well as positive associations among natural sciences students. Everyone currently working at Air Products should feel proud!”
