Air Products Celebrates the Accomplishments of All Women, Everywhere
March 8 is International Women's Day (IWD), a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day is a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
Collective action and shared responsibility for driving a gender equal world is key to change. At Air Products, employees are empowered to motivate and unite friends, colleagues and whole communities to advance this worldwide goal.
The 2020 theme "Each for Equal" is drawn from a notion of ‘Collective Individualism.’ Our individual actions, conversations, behaviors and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society. Collectively, we can make positive change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world. We can all choose to be #EachforEqual.
Air Products employees around the world are planning conversations and organizing events to celebrate IWD. As part of these efforts, employees are taking photos in the #EachforEqual pose – using hands and forearms to form an equals sign – to support collaboration in creating a gender equal world.
Air Products recognizes that equality is not a women's issue, it is a business issue. Women bring vital experiences and perspectives to the table that must be utilized to help the company accomplish its goal of being the safest, most diverse and most profitable industrial gases company in the world.
To help support this goal, Air Products’ Women’s Success Network (WSN) provides a resource for both women and men to help female employees reach their full potential by supporting their development and championing an inclusive workplace. The WSN helps advance IWD’s goal of gender parity through three critical objectives:
- Connecting women with colleagues and leaders to form supportive, strategic networks
- Developing women's technical and leadership skills to promote personal and professional growth to strengthen our talent pool
- Advocating for a culture that fully embraces the business imperative of attracting, retaining and advancing women into roles of leadership and influence
