 Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is an international company with annual revenues of $7.4 billion dollars and operations in over 30 countries. The company was founded in 1940 with an innovative concept of locating cryogenic air separation plants at a customers' site (on-site) in order to reduce the cost of oxygen and nitrogen and to meet the demands of industry. Later, the original on-site generation concept was expanded to include full industrial gas facilities to supply regional markets. During this period, Air Products also broadened its scope of cryogenic operations to include the production, purification, and liquefaction of many other gases including helium, hydrogen, argon, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and hydrocarbons such as methane, ethane, and ethylene. Today, Air Products owns and operates over 300 industrial gas and chemical facilities which provide products to customers in over 100 countries.

 Air Products' organization is divided into two major operating groups, Gases and Equipment, and Chemicals. The Gases and Equipment Group produces and markets industrial gases, builds and sells proprietary process equipment, and licenses patented process technology. A principal business entity within the Gases and Equipment Group is the Worldwide Equipment and Manufacturing Division which includes the LNG Process and Equipment Business.
Background and Experience
Over the past half century the Gases and Equipment Group has achieved a leading worldwide position in the design of process systems, in the manufacture of process equipment, and in the production of industrial and specialty gases. Today we are a highly integrated ISO certified organization recognized for a quality approach in the following areas:
Process Gas – Markets such gases as helium, hydrogen, argon, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. These are used in a wide range of industries including petrochemicals, ferrous and nonferrous metals, electronics, food processing, and textiles as well as oil and gas production and refining.
Equipment – Markets equipment and technology for natural gas liquefaction, air separation, natural gas, and other hydrocarbon processing systems. Manufacturing plants located in the United States, United Kingdom, and Mexico produce skid mounted process plants, system components, and units of equipment such as coil-wound heat exchangers, distillation columns, cryogenic storage tanks, liquid product trailers, shop-fabricated cold boxes, vaporizers, and turboexpanders. Aluminum coil-wound heat exchangers for base load LNG facilities are produced in the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA plant.
 Operations – Provides expertise for the operation and maintenance of the Company's production plants. This expertise, developed over a 60 year period, provides input to the improvement of our system designs and it creates a synergy in the application of our technology both within the Company and externally for the customers we serve.
