Silterra Megasys® Team from Southeast Asia Gets “Supplier of the Year Award” by Silterra Semiconductor

Silterra Semiconductor, Kulim, Malaysia recognized the outstanding services of our Electronics Megasys® team with their “Supplier of the Year” award.  Megasys® team provides Total Gas Management services for both the Specialty Gases Distribution Systems and Base Gases Systems in Silterra’s Gas Farm.  This award in the form of  a plaque reflects the period of our Megasys® performance during 2005.

Megasys® team at Silterra consists of 21 team members and has been on-site since 2000.  This is the first time that Silterra has instituted these awards to their top-5 suppliers from among a total of over 70 suppliers.

“To finally receive the Supplier of the Year award from the pioneering Wafer Fab in Kulim Hi-Tech Park is a great endorsement and recognition on Air Products’ global brand--thank you to Haida and the team for Delivering the Difference," said Saw Choon Seong, managing director, Air Products Singapore and Malaysia.  

"It took hard and sincere work by all our team members under strong leadership of Haida Rosli over the years to achieve this award, and it serves as the recognition from Silterra on the value proposition of our Megasys operations," added Ong Chin Teck, Tech Center Manager, South-East Asia.

Silterra Semiconductor is a leading semiconductor manufacturer in Malaysia and one of our important customers in Kulim area. In addition to supply of Megasys, Air Products also supply ESG (Electronic Specialty Gases) products and pipeline gases to Silterra.

Air Products Earns Top Gases Industry Award  

Gases and Technology magazine recognized Air Products with its 2004 Product Innovation Award at SEMICON® West 2004, the semiconductor industry's largest trade show. The magazine was impressed with our MegaBIP® HCl cylinder delivery technology, which allows the highest-purity hydrogen chloride (HCl) on the market to be used at unparalleled levels of efficiency—a direct contrast with conventional cylinders, where product purity levels can fluctuate widely. HCl is helping to drive the growing wireless and optical communication semiconductor markets. Use of HCl significantly reduces contamination and oxygen-related atom defects found during portions of the chip-making process.

The Gases and Technology Product Innovation Awards are in their inaugural year, and were established earlier this year to honor excellence in gas handling technology. Award recipients were recognized for products that were creative, had strong economic merits, and whose design helped overcome a significant industry challenge. This latest news follows other successes of the BIP® line of technology; just last month, BIP technology was honored with the Queen's Awards for Enterprise: Innovation 2004. The UK-based award is the region's most prestigious recognition for business performance.
