A major factor in Air Products success as a supplier of oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas to the energy and process industries has been our ability to identify and exploit potential to integrate plants and processes. Our extensive pipeline networks in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa are clear examples of how Air Products can provide economies of scale and reliability through integrating the needs of multiple customers with differing needs for gases and energy.
On a smaller scale – but no less valuable – have been Air Products's successes in configuring air separation units, syngas plants and energy systems to supply our customers with gases, electricity, steam, instrument air and other fluids. Examples include:
- Hydrogen plants owned and operated by Air Products are designed to optimize steam production to meet customers' needs
- Air Products and Technip's global hydrogen alliance specify– and Air Products owns and operates - nearly 200MW of power production integrated with hydrogen plants around the world
- Baytown, Texas: we designed, own and operate the syngas handling and separation system on a heavy liquids gasifier. We provide value to the owner of the gasifier by marketing competitively-priced hydrogen and carbon monoxide to third parties.
- Buggenum, The Netherlands - Air Products designed and built an air separation unit specifically for the requirements of a highly integrated gasification & combined cycle (IGCC) facility.
