Coupling Agents

Coupling agents play a critical role in cleaning formulations by facilitating the dissolution and dispersion of organic solvents into water-based systems, while allowing the solution to retain its clarity, viscosity, and homogeneity.  Commodity hydrotropes such as Sodium Xylene Sulfonate adequately couple these systems, however typically do not provide additional benefits such as increased cleaning performance.

Tomamine amphoteric surfactants, however, are not only highly effective in coupling heavily built solutions, but also have the ability to provide further cleaning performance and overall system stability in the final formulation.  Additionally, their high performance in coupling means that on average, your formulation would use 28% less hydrotrope as compared to commodity products.
