AIR PRODUCTS POLYMERS ANNOUNCES PRICE INCREASES FOR CERTAIN POLYMER EMULSIONS PRODUCTS

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (April 16, 2002) — Air Products Polymers, L.P. today announced that, effective May 15, 2002, it will implement a one-and-one-half-cent ($0.015) per wet pound price increase for vinyl acetate homopolymer and copolymer emulsions, and all ethylene, vinyl chloride-based emulsions.  These products are marketed by the company under the Airflex®, Flexbond®, and Vinac® trademarks.

Air Products Polymers' Airflex, Flexbond, and Vinac emulsion products are used in applications including adhesives, building products, nonwovens, paper, carpet and textiles.  This price adjustment, to be applied in North America markets only, is being driven by increases in raw materials and feedstock costs in the manufacture of these products.

Air Products Polymers, L.P. is a joint venture between Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (Allentown, Pa., NYSE:APD) and Wacker-Chemie GmbH (Munich, Germany) that manufactures and distributes latex polymers.

NOTE: This release may contain forward-looking statements. Actual results could vary materially, due to changes in current expectations.

EDITOR'S NOTE:
The "wet" pound designation is essential to understanding emulsions pricing and is a vital part of this announcement.
