Air Products' revolutionary Integra® cylinder has received TUV Rheinland Group certification, recognising its unrivalled safety and ergonomic features. Air Products is the first gases and chemicals company to receive the certification.
The German standards testing and certification organisation, TUV Rheinland Group, is recognised throughout the world for documenting the safety and quality of products, systems and services.
The TUV certification confirms that the Integra® cylinder is safer than the standard requirements to welding gas cylinders in general, thanks to its integrated features. The organisation also concluded that the Integra® quick-connect outlet allows users to reduce cylinder change time by up to 90%, while being easier to handle due to its reduced weight and height.
Details of the TUV award will feature on all Integra® cylinders. It will also point users to a web site that cites the benefits of the Integra cylinder identified by TUV during their certification. 1)
Air Products' Integra® cylinder was developed to meet the growing production and safety demands of today's welding industry. "Integra® is up to 23% lighter and 33% smaller, making it more stable than traditional 50 litre cylinders but retaining a similar capacity," explains Mark Griffiths, 300bar Programme Manager.
"A built-in pressure regulator, quick-connect system - complete with a range of flow control options - and a live contents gauge, make for safer and easier operation, while also offering better reliability," adds Mark.
Over 300,000 Integra® cylinders have been sold across Europe since its launch in 1999. As well as the benefits of the Integra® cylinder, a unique range of shielding gases has been developed to provide improved productivity, fewer welding rejects and a better working environment.
