LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (April 27, 2006) – Business Ethics Magazine has named Air Products (NYSE:APD) to its 2006 list of the "100 Best Corporate Citizens."
The 2006 listing recognizes companies among the Russell 1000—the largest publicly traded companies—that "excel at serving a variety of stakeholders well." The ranking is based on quantitative measures of corporate service to seven stakeholder groups: shareholders, community, minorities and women, employees, environment, non-U.S. stakeholders and customers.
"The people of Air Products take their economic, environmental and social responsibilities to heart," said John P. Jones, chairman and chief executive officer. "It is an honor to again be recognized by Business Ethics Magazine for our commitment to delivering shareholder value, being an environmentally responsible neighbor, and improving the quality of life in the communities where we live and work."
Researchers at the Carroll School of Management at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. provide the statistical analysis, while KLD Research & Analytics of Boston, a research firm serving socially responsible investors, provides the social ratings.
