5th March 2009 – The European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) has honoured Air Products’ Wilton plant with a prestigious safety award recognising their excellent performance and commitment in this area. The Bronze award recognises 5 consecutive years without employee loss-time incidents at the company’s hydrogen gas and liquid carbon dioxide manufacturing plant.
Highlighting the successful harmonisation of Air Products’ operating standards and EHS best practice globally, EIGA also gave their facility in Zaragoza (Spain) a Gold award representing a momentous 15 years without lost time incidents. A further Silver award was presented to their facility in Glogow (Poland), representing 10 years without any lost time incidents or 500,000 employee hours worked. The company’s sites in Arrigorriaga (Spain) and Vilvoorde (Belgium) also received Bronze.

EIGA has also honoured Air Products with their esteemed Annual Road Safety Award for the second time in three years. The honour recognises the company’s lowest accident rate for cylinder vehicles driven 500,000 – 2,000,000KM in Germany.
“Through comprehensive training, we provide all Air Products’ drivers with the necessary skills and expertise to work safely and prevent risks,” commented Kim DelSordo, Air Products’ General Manager - Northern Continent Packaged Gases. “Winning this award from EIGA demonstrates that those efforts really are working and helping us set an industry standard.” |
