18th June 2007 – Air Products Polymers today announced a temporary surcharge of €35/ton for all of its dispersions sold in Europe effective 1st July 2007, until further notice. The price increase will affect Vinyl acetate Homopolymers, Vinyl acetate-Ethylene Co-polymers and Ter-polymers, Vinylacetate-Ethylene-Vinylchloride Ter-polymers, Vinylchloride-Ethylene-Acrylate-Ter-polymers and Styrene-Acrylate Co-polymers, which are sold under the brand names AIRFLEX®, VINAC®, FLEXBOND®  and FLEXCRYL® -dispersions.

This temporary surcharge is required since raw materials suppliers have had to limit the quantity of product sold to their customers, including Air Products Polymers, following recent force majeure events. Suppliers of VAM and PVOH have also announced significant price increases.

“We will do everything reasonably possible to limit the effects of these raw material delivery restrictions and will keep customers fully informed of developments as we get more clarity of impact,” said Feike van der Heide, general manager, Air Products Polymers, Europe.
