6th February, 2008 – On Saturday 16th February, 2008 a sizeable item of equipment is set to leave Air Products’ Manufacturing Facility in Acrefair, North Wales, bound for the Ellesmere Port Dock Complex where it will be loaded onto a ship bound for Qatar. The same movement will take place the following week on 23rd /24th February, 08.
The items of equipment to be moved will be Cold Boxes measuring 24.4 metres in length, 6.3 metres wide, 4.2 metres high and weighing 180 tonnes.
“Movements such as these take months of planning”, commented Geoff Morris , Commercial Manager, GEO Manufacturing Europe . “We work closely with the Highways Agency, local authorities and police forces across three counties to ensure the safe and smooth transit of our loads. Whilst we appreciate there is some disruption to local roadways during a load movement, we work hard to ensure this is kept to the minimum and publicise our activities in advance through local media”.
The Cold Box is due to leave Acrefair at 8am on Saturday 16th February, 08 travelling by route D. It is scheduled to arrive on the A41 outside Whitchurch around 1pm the same day, where it will remain overnight. The load will leave Whitchurch at 8am on Sunday 17th February, 08 bound for Ellesmere Port Docks, where it is expected to arrive around 1pm.
The second box is due to leave Acrefair at 8am on Saturday 23rd February, 08 travelling by route D. It is scheduled to arrive on the A41 outside Whitchurch around 1pm the same day, where it will remain overnight. The load will leave Whitchurch at 8am on Sunday 24th February, 08 bound for Ellesmere Port Docks, where it is expected to arrive around 1pm.
