Air Products Receives APQC Award for Innovation
Air Products was recently recognized for successfully embedding innovation into its culture through governance and employee engagement processes by APQC. Formerly known as the American Productivity and Quality Center, the APQC provides benchmarking and best-practice research for about 500 organizations in all industries to increase productivity.
Attending the APQC award presentation were, from left: Marisa Brown, Innovation and R&D senior program manager, APQC; Kevin Desouza, assistant professor, University of Washington; Gerry Swift, project manager, APQC; Vince Grassi and Herb Klotz, Air Products; and Mark Fox, chief executive officer, Sly as a Fox. |
The APQC award points to specific actions Air Products has taken in recent years to make innovation part of its corporate fabric. These include Air Products’ organizational structure for innovation, innovation strategy, and governance processes that formalize the company’s approach and the way it is put into practice.
“Air Products is one of the best process-managed companies in the world,” said a spokeswoman for APQC. “APQC is proud to have captured their journey to excellence along a spectrum of functions, processes and management initiatives.”
