Air Products' North American Gases Fleet Recognized for Safety by Compressed Gas Association
Air Products' North American gases fleet team recently received the Compressed Gas Association's (CGA) 2006 Fleet Safety Award. One of the association's most prestigious awards, the Fleet Safety Award recognizes the Air Products team for most improved accident performance in 2006. Air Products fleet drivers--with support from the company's mechanics, supervisors, the Global Environment, Health, Safety & Quality organization, and other site staff--have logged more than 50 million miles in service to our customers during fiscal year 2006.
"This award not only recognizes the outstanding performance of our drivers, but also acknowledges Air Products' culture, where safety is the highest priority in everything we do, everyday," said Joe Pietrantonio, vice president, Global Operations-North America. Pietrantonio also commented on the high safety standards of the industrial gas industry. "Being recognized among our industrial gas peers is an extraordinary achievement. Our industry has a trucking safety performance that is more than twice as safe as the trucking industry as a whole."
The CGA (www.cganet.com), formed in 1913, promotes safety standards and safe practices in the industrial gas industry and works with gas producers and suppliers, transporters, distributors, and government to continuously improve safety.
