Air Products Again Among Fortune’s Most Admired Companies

(March 10, 2008) Air Products was listed as the #6 most admired company within the chemicals industry sector by Fortune Magazine in its "America's Most Admired Companies” March 2008 issue. Air Products has been consistently on the “Most Admired” list since 2000.

To arrive at the 2008 rankings, research consultant Hay Group sorted the 1,000 largest U.S. companies and the top foreign companies operating in the U.S. by revenue into 64 industry groups. The 10 largest companies in these 64 groups were then included in the annual survey.

Executives, directors and securities analysts were asked to rank companies within their industry on eight criteria: (1) innovation, (2) people management, (3) use of corporate assets, (4) social responsibility, (5) quality of management, (6) financial soundness, (7) long-term investment and (8) quality of products and services. Only those companies that scored the best in these criteria made the "Most Admired" list for their industry.

In addition to being ranked within its industry group, Air Products also was among the Most Admired companies in Pennsylvania, where the company is headquartered.
