Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. Surfynol, Dynol, and EnviroGem additives--what's new

June 2009

Just because concrete is hard doesn't mean that formulating it has to be!

If you’re formulating cement systems for use in self-leveling underlayments or floors, grouts, adhesives, mortars and more—you can improve performance while maintaining overall formulation costs. Sound too good to be true? With Air Products’ new Surfynol® MD-600S Powder Defoamer, it’s not.

Surfynol MD-600S defoamer is a free-flowing, low dusting, powdered additive for dry mix formulations that should be used at 1/2 to 1/3 of typical defoamer use levels. Surfynol MD-600S defoamer works with superplasticizer and water-reducing technologies, including polycarboxylate ethers (PCEs).

Due to its unique chemistry, this new defoamer allows for fast-acting defoaming with longlasting deaeration. Since Surfynol MD-600S defoamer is based on molecular defoamer technology, it doesn’t lose performance over time during application or as the formulation ages during storage. With Surfynol MD-600S defoamer, you can achieve enhanced flow, excellent selfleveling, reduced air content and a smooth and defect-free surface. Say good-bye to pinholes, craters and white spots!

Surfynol MD-600S defoamer is universally applicable and efficient for use in alkaline systems. Plus, it can be used with all other powder components or in association with cement, emulsion and powder polymers, hydrocolloids, fibers and water repellents. Surfynol MD-600S defoamer can be blended with the other solid ingredients of your formulation in conventional powder mixers or post-added to your formulation.

To see how you can make formulating something hard, easy, give Surfynol MD-600S defoamer a try.
