typical projects and designs

typical application

Air Products takes advantage of a broad experience base in gas processing to provide our customers with expansion equipment for many applications. Typical projects using CryoMachinery's expanders include:

  • Air, nitrogen or oxygen expansion for air separation plants.
  • High -efficiency expander retrofits to reduce plant operating costs and/or increase production.
  • Single-shaft, expander/process compressor units that reduce plant compression power requirements.
  • Generator-loaded expanders for power recovery on new or existing processes.
  • High-speed, high-efficiency turbo expanders for helium, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide.
  • Hydrocarbon expanders for power recovery and gas processing applications.
  • Shaft-mounted or direct-coupled expanders on multi-stage process compressors.
  • Dense fluid expanders to efficiently and reliably replace J-T valves.
