| Turbomachinery is essential to the success of any cryogenic process. CryoMachinery's radial inflow turboexpanders provide refrigeration for some of the most efficient air separation facilities in the world. At CryoMachinery, we have been dedicated to providing high value and reliable expansion and compression products for over 40 years. High value is the result of world-class efficiency and low-cost designs that are delivered to our customers on time. Reliability results from proven designs which are easy to operate and maintain. Because we are part of a company that builds and operates its own process plants, we understand the expectations of customers who operate their own facilities. CryoMachinery is ready to meet your next cryogenic equipment need. |

In cases where it is not economically viable to recover power, CryoMachinery offers its low-cost power dissipating expanders. These units provide refrigeration efficiently with low capital investment. CryoMachinery provides a wide range of sizes and types to meet customer requirements. CryoMachinery's diverse product line of energy dissipating expanders includes oil bearing, compliant foil gas bearing and antifriction bearing equipped expanders. Each product has its own unique benefits.
Energy dissipating turboexpanders are often used to provide refrigeration for cryogenic gas separation facilities. The expander extracts work from a process or waste gas stream providing refrigeration to the process. The work removed from the gas stream by the expander is dissipated through an atmospheric blower or oil brake. These applications demand high efficiency and reliability at an economical cost. Energy dissipating expanders also have many applications in hydrocarbon processing applications, providing refrigeration through the expansion of hydrogen, helium, carbon monoxide and other gas stream mixtures.
CryoMachinery designs and manufacturers three styles of energy dissipating turboexpanders. Oil-loaded expanders dissipate the energy removed from the gas stream to the lubricating oil. The energy is then transferred to the cooling water system in the lube oil cooler. The oil-loaded family of expanders is well suited for installations where very low noise levels must be attained. Oil-loaded expanders require the installation of a lube oil system to provide filtered and temperature-controlled oil to the expander for the bearings and oil brake. CryoMachinery also offers two styles of atmospheric blower-loaded expanders. The energy removed from the process gas stream is dissipated by compressing an ambient air stream in an open loop. Atmospheric blower-loaded units are available with either compliant foil gas bearing or oil mist lubricated antifriction bearings. Both styles offer a compact installation, which include speed throttle valves, filters, and silencers all as part of the blower package.
