| CryoMachinery has stringent quality standards for our expander operating systems. Inspection, balancing, assembly, and testing facilities enable CryoMachinery to provide high-quality components and long-term reliability benefits to our customers. CryoMachinery is certified to ISO 9001: 2000 |
 |
- Inspection—Components parts undergo rigorous inspection using such equipment as a computer-assisted coordinate measuring machine, a thirty-inch optical comparator, air-bearing rotary tables with digital readout and high-resolution analog amplifiers, .00001-inch ID/OD ring comparators, and other high-precision measuring devices.
- Balancing—Rotor assembly and component balancing is accomplished with Hoffman equipment. Smaller components are balanced on a soft suspension micro-balancing unit, and larger components are balanced on a super-precision hard-balancing unit. This high-precision equipment provides residual unbalance sensitivity to one micro-inch.
- Warm and Cryogenic Testing—Ongoing R&D efforts and testing enable CryoMachinery to maintain a position on the leading edge of expander technology. Extensive mechanical and aerodynamic performance testing is done using open or closed loop piping at our test facility with a 500 HP (373 kW) air-nitrogen compressor. Our engineers use high-accuracy instrumentation, multi-point data loggers and microcomputers to evaluate aerodynamic and mechanical test stand performance. Cryogenic testing is now an option at our Allentown test facility. In addition, through constant feedback from our operating plants, CryoMachinery can accurately predict the performance of our equipment, even at off design conditions.
