Mechanical Spin Test
-
CMD performs on average one mechanical spin test per week. A mechanical spin test is a post-assembly quality assurance check. The purpose is to verify that the turbine will operate reliably in the field by checking vibration, seal gas, and oil measurements against acceptance criteria. If a unit fails, tearing down, rebuilding, and diagnostic testing may be necessary.

Aerodynamic Spin Test
-
CMD performs on average one aerodynamic spin test per month. An aerodynamic spin test is a post-assembly check on the isentropic efficiency of the unit. The purpose is to verify that the efficiency of the unit meets the design specifications. If a unit fails, the data will be reviewed and evaluated by a design engineer.
