Air Products Cryo-Trim® technology allows the removal of excess flash and material from moulded rubber components.

Air Products has been a leader in cryogenic deflashing applications since the early 1960's when we conceived the concept of using liquid nitrogen for moulded rubber deflashing. Air Products' Cryo-Trim® control system can be incorporated into both tumbler and shot blast equipment.
How Does It Work?
Liquid nitrogen is used to embrittle the excess flash ready for mechanical removal by tumbling in a drum or using shot blast equipment. The flash removal is efficient and provides excellent moulded component finish quality.

Air Products provides the know-how to develop an effective, cost efficient deflashing operation and can also deliver a host of other services and capabilities. These include the following:
- In plant equipment installation and start-up assistance.
- Safety training in the use and handling of liquid nitrogen (LIN)
- Optimization of nitrogen use with regard to equipment and operating practices.
- Liquid nitrogen transfer piping analysis for optimum piping design, material selection and cost optimization.
- Ongoing and prompt technical service support, should problems arise.
- Complete deflashing laboratory for parts analysis and data acquisition.
Equipment and Vendor Partnerships
Cryogenic Systems and Parts Co. (CSP) Air Products is working together with Cryogenic Systems and Parts Co. (CSP) to provide shot-blast deflashing equipment technology to the market.
CSP provides high quality, efficient and competitively priced shot-blast equipment to the moulded rubber industry in addition to a complete source of replacement parts for most shot-blast units. Both large and small capacity units are available, along with custom electrical and mechanical design options.
