The survival of our business requires the highest efficiency in the production and delivery of our products. Our individual businesses have had efficiency targets for years, contributing significantly to our productivity and continuous improvement efforts.
In early 2008, we additionally commissioned a cross-company team to provide corporate-wide coordination of our reduction targets. This team will make recommendations on accelerating further efficiency improvements and reducing our energy intensity.
We continue to believe that our most impactful contributions are in developing clean energy technologies with the potential to reduce emissions across the energy supply chain and carbon capture technologies that can be fitted to existing and newly developing capital investments. |
