Diversity Leadership Teams are strategic partners in diversity formed around business leaders' organizations. They are championed by management and typically try to identify and research things that impede diversity or inclusion in the business area or function sponsored by a senior business manager. Then they recommend changes in policy and practice and other actions that improve diversity.
The members of the teams bring energy around the diversity issues they will address and leadership skills to make them effective contributors. They also receive training and orientation to help them track their diversity issues with responsibility for recommending corrective actions to management. Their goal is to get diversity down into the organization.
