(October 2009) – Air Products Indonesia recently awarded scholarships for one full year of tuition (2009-2010) to 39 financially needy students from Harjamekar 02 State Elementary School in Harjamekar Village near our Cikarang plant site. The scholarship award ceremony was conducted at the school in cooperation with Jababeka Industrial Zone Developer (LPPM).
Air Products Scholarships are awarded through the school to finance students’ education needs, including books, uniforms and other supplies. LPPM contributed sporting goods such as volleyballs, footballs, badminton rackets, and the like. Handoko Taniwidjojo, managing director of Air Products Indonesia, and the chairman of LPPM Jababeka, presented a set of school uniforms to the students as a symbol of the scholarship awards bestowed.
Air Products is committed to supporting education in the communities surrounding our locations. Apart from supporting compulsory education programs in the form of scholarships like these, we also assist other schools near our Gresik and Cikarang sites each year by helping to repair school facilities. In addition, we have awarded annual scholarships to the current Chemical Diploma student in Merak for the last decade. |
