As part of Air Products' quality management process, supplier conformance to requirements and expectations is measured. Nonconformance is reported when it occurs so that it may be corrected and prevented. Positive performance is also reported to encourage and recognize achievement. Delivery performance information is tracked. All suppliers whose raw materials, supplies or services have been approved for use at an Air Products site are expected to achieve high-quality results to maintain their business position with Air Products.
We use a formal rating system for our suppliers:
| Not Certified – |
The quality process is not implemented. |
| Qualifying – |
There is a formal commitment to quality, but the process is not yet implemented. |
| Certified – |
Most of the agreed-upon requirements are met, but the quality process is only partially implemented. The supplier is working toward and committed to achieving a preferred rating. |
| Preferred – |
The quality process is fully implemented. All key requirements are being met. |
| Crystal – |
After three consecutive years of Preferred status, a key supplier is eligible for the Air Products "Crystal Award." | |
