Environmental legislation is becoming increasingly stringent, demanding ever more accurate and reliable analysis of a wide range of complex chemical compounds. This inevitably places individuals and analytical techniques under constantly growing pressure. That's why we developed the Experis® range of ultra-pure gases and highly accurate and stable mixtures, even at the ppb level, specially dedicated to environmental applications like:
- Air monitoring: pure gases and mixtures containing nitric oxides (NOx), sulfur compounds (SO2), Hydrocarbons (CnHm), BTX compounds, ppb mixtures
- Stack emissions monitoring: pure gases and mixtures containing carbon CO, CO2, NOx, SO2, acid gases (HCl, HF), metals, VOCs
- MOT testing—automotive emissions: pure gases and mixtures containing CO, CO2, C3H8, NO
The Experis® range includes zero gases, carrier and detector gases, highly stable and accurate standard reference materials (SRMs) and Certified Reference Materials (CRMs). Experis® mixtures satisfy international standards such as EPA or ISO 17025 and are also able to meet the most stringent demands for accuracy, inter-laboratory tests or legal requirements.
They are produced and certified in Air Products own own state-of-the-art accredited lab according to the ISO 17025 international standards, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and full traceability to internationally recognised standards.
ppb Mixtures:
Low concentration mixtures of reactive gases may show changes in concentration both over time and as the cylinder pressure falls. Since their stability is essential to the reliability of analytical results, we put our cylinders through special treatments and use proprietary technology to produce the ultra-stable Experis® range of ppb mixtures.
Air Products' standard range of ppb mixtures includes:
- 200 ppb NO in N2
- 500 ppb NO in N2
- 200 ppb NO2 in Air
- 500 ppb NO2 in Air
- 200 ppb SO2 in Air
- 500 ppb SO2 in Air
Experis® mixtures are ultra-stable, even in the ppb range. Results have been verified and confirmed by independent National Laboratories.
For instance, below you'll find a graph which shows the long-term stability (> 20 months) obtained with VOC compounds:
