Q: Can you briefly describe your job function in your current position?
A: "My research programs include plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) and plasma etching of thin films used in semiconductor and display manufacturing. I also provide applications support for electronic gases. Working with our customers, I developed CVD chamber clean processes having reduced emissions of gases having a high global warming potential."


Q: What is your favorite thing about your current position?
A: "Working with our customers on projects that will improve Electronics manufacturing."


Q: What made you want to join Air Products and what keeps you here?
A: "I knew a number of people at AP that had developed scientifically rewarding careers. They were recognized experts whose research contributed to our technical understanding, yet, whose projects were closely tied to a business or industry need."


Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: "I like to be active outdoors as much as possible. Many weekends my family will take bicycle rides along the canal paths (Delaware river) or lakes nearby. I enjoy playing tennis and exercise regularly. In the winter, we like to ski/snowboard. I like to cook and attend cooking classes locally."


Q: Where is your favorite vacation spot?
A: "Holidays beside the beach are my favorite (Seapointe Village, NJ)"


Q: What Air Products-related accomplishment/moment are you most proud of?
A: "In 2002 our group was a recipient of the EPA's Climate Protection Award. Our group was recognized for assesing the impact of perfluorocompound (PFC) gases on climate change and establishing methods for reducing emissions of these gases during semiconductor processing. PFCs (e.g., C2F6, SF6) have a very high global warming potential due to their strong infrared absorbances and long atmospheric lifetimes. We developed quantitative methods for measuring emissions which were then used for process optimization and development of alternative processes."
