Q: Can you briefly describe your job function in your current position?A: "I just started as the Marketing Manager for the Energy segment in Tonnage Gases, Energy and Equipment (TGEE). Initially, my responsibility is to lead a team in a joint effort with Merchant Gases to evaluate a possible play in BioEnergy"
Q: What is your favorite thing about your current position?A: "I like the fact that I'm looking at real world markets, like energy and electricity-things I can talk to my family about. You can have a conversation about energy with almost anyone and they'll have an opinion. I also have a personal interest in our country's energy future and responsibility, so it's a nice added bonus to work toward the greater good."
Q: What made you want to join Air Products and what keeps you here?A: "I was impressed by the combination of breadth of areas where one could work and scale: Air Products is not so large that you feel as though you're just a number. I have friends at other large companies who feel pigeon-holed into their position and as if it is difficult to have an impact. My impression while I was interviewing was that this would be less likely to happen at Air Products, and I'm happy to say that I've found it to be true-in large part because of the CDP program."
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?A: "Lots of sports: swimming, volleyball, tennis, soccer. I also coach my son, Hudson's soccer team. At home, I play guitar and piano and try to teach Hudson Spanish."
Q: Where is your favorite vacation spot?A: "The Outer Banks. I love it because there are no agendas. We just wake up and say "what do you feel like doing today?""
Q: What Air Products-related accomplishment/moment are you most proud of?A: "The day my first patent was awarded. Your first patent is always a special accomplishment, but what made this one even more exciting was that it issued as the material went commercial. In fact, we didn't historically patent a lot in that area, but this patent became the base that led to several others for that product line, as we realized the importance of Intellectual Property in that business."
