Q: Can you briefly describe your job function in your current position?
A: "I work in the Computational Modeling Center at Air Products. As the technical lead for computational fluid dynamics I am in charge of our entire CFD portfolio. In general we support (via computational modeling) equipment design, troubleshooting, and efficiency issues to name a few things. I work across technologies but primarily I focus on HyCO (our Hydrogen business), Electronics, and Chemical Processes at Air Products. In my particular role, I am also responsible for software evaluation and maintenance as well as hardware evaluation."

Q: What is your favorite thing about your current position?
A: "Compared with pure research, I see direct impact of my work on the company and the profits of the company."

Q: What made you want to join Air Products?
A: "I started at Air Products in 1995. Prior to that, my husband and I both worked for a software company. My husband was offered a job with Air Products and I joined shortly thereafter. I saw Air Products as a stable company that was truly concerned about the development of their employees."

Q: Describe your most interesting/exciting experience at AP.
A: "Early in my career at AP I began working on a project with one of our processing plants in Hometown, PA. I was involved in modeling the agitation system of the reactors. My contribution lead to improved processing conditions such as decreased corrosion issues in the reactors as well as a three fold increase in efficiency for the process. Because of my work the entire plant increased its productivity and I have become very well known at the plant."

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: "I'm a mother of two so I get most my exercise chasing my kids around. Besides being a full time parent, I enjoy keeping up on current events mainly by reading the magazines I subscribe to: Scientific America, National Geographic, Time, and News Week."

Q: What is your favorite book?
A: "I read a lot as a kid.  I'd have to say my favorite book was War and Peace.  It was long but that's the one that stuck with me all this time."

Q: Where is your favorite vacation spot?
A: "I love to travel.  We have been to China (we go almost every year), Switzerland, Italy, and France to name a few places."

Q: What do you like about where you live?
A: "This is a great place for a family. The area is stable and safe. The school systems are good and the traffic is unbeatable. Also it's not too expensive compared to New York and Philadelphia which are right down the road."
