Q: Can you briefly describe your job function in your current position?A: "I am currently in Process and Separation group, working with the projects of Adsorption and Distillation in Large Air Separation Unit (ASU)."
Q: What is your favorite thing about your current position?A: "Opportunities of exploring a great variety of the technology."
Q: What made you want to join Air Products and what keeps you here?A: "I am very new in the company as I started in May of 2008. I feel the company really cares about my career development. My manager reviews my work regularly and takes time to help me. My colleagues are also very supportive. I've gotten chances to talk to two senior managers in R&D from Allentown, PA and they shared about the global technology community and the future development of the organisation and business. They also gave me good career advice regarding how I am able to develop myself at Air Products. Global Engineering Operations (GEO) in Hesham office has also arranged two senior managers to discuss my career advancement. All this help me better position myself at Air Products in the future."
Q: Describe your most interesting/exciting experience at AP.A: "During CDP/EDP introduction course last Oct, we went to dinner in a Greek restaurant. The restaurant owner and waiters played the plates and danced with us. That was really fantastic!"
Q: Outside of Hersham, who and where do you interact with professionally?A: "I get to work with collegues in Allentown, PA (USA) and Carrington (UK, Manchester, where the pilot plant of ASU is located ) very closely. We usually have net-meetings very often. Sometimes I need to travel to Carrington to observe some qualification test and get familiar with the facilities there."
Q: What is your favorite movie?A: "The Shawshank Redemption"
Q: What are some community activities you're involved in?A: "I am doing various volunteer works in some local charities. I've worked for a UN on-line voluntary program to support an Education Organisation in Zambia for two years, bridging the charities in the UK and this Organisation in Zambia, such as applying some advanced IT communication technology to Zambia. I also helped a local charity to organise an Environmental Conference this year. I've also been working for a healing group to apply some oriental treating techniques to help some patients in the local community."
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?A: "I like mountain climbing, Yoga and Meditation. I usually do these activities with friends."
Q: Where is your favorite vacation spot?A: "XinJiang Province in China: great scenery of desert, a mountain with snow all the seasons, a beautiful lake and forest within one province. The grapes there are also very famous and delicious, you could enjoy as much as you can free of charge in the farms."
