Carrington's partnership experiences have included external partnerships in the forms of university funding and recruiting, joint development arrangements with small and large companies, venture capital funding, and in- and out-licensing.
Carrington's previous responsibilities within Air Products technology organization have included bench-level R&D on polymer gas separation membranes, polymeric materials for electronics applications, polymer emulsions for adhesives and coatings, supercritical CO2 processing of materials, surfactant design and activity, and polymer physical testing methods.
Carrington received his B.S. in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University, Ph.D. in Chemistry at Virginia Tech and conducted post-doctoral work with L'Institut Française du Pétrole in Lyon, France. He's author of several patents and publications around his technical work. Professional memberships and activities include the Licensing Executives Society, American Chemical Society and the National Venture Capital Association.

Licensing Focus Areas: Cryogenic, adsorption and membrane based process technology for atmospheric gas separation and process gas separations, industrial gas application technology (specialty atmospheres, combustion, food processing, pulp and paper, specialty cryogenic applications), rare gas separation technology, cryogenic process and cryogen delivery technology, packaged gases (cylinder) technology, environmental process systems, water and wastewater treatment technology and equipment, medical gases and medical devices.
Jeff has over 25 years of professional experience in technical and commercial assignments including over 20 years with Air Products. Since joining Air Products, he has held senior positions in technical sales, marketing, new product introduction and business development in our commercial and technology organizations. In these roles, Jeff was responsible for the development and execution of business plans for new offerings, the profitability of capital assets and maintaining positive customer relationships with both U.S. and internationally based companies. Jeff offers business development experience and technical knowledge in a wide range of technologies and industrial segments to assist with your evaluation of our technology offerings.
Jeff joined Air Products’ Commercial Development organization in 1987 with a B.S. degree in Pre-medicine and a M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, both from the Pennsylvania State University. Jeff has coauthored two patents and is a member of the Licensing Executive Society.

Bob is the Manager, Technology Transfer at Air Products and is responsible for developing research partnerships with and licensing technology from universities, national laboratories and small companies.
As a member of the company's Corporate Technology Partnerships group, Bob's mission is to enhance the company's core skills and facilitate rapid development of new innovations through early access to external technologies and expertise. After joining Air Products in 1976, Bob served in various roles managing analytical technology, instrumentation and equipment technology, corporate research, and corporate partnerships.
Bob is a member of the American Chemical Society serving as chair of the ACS Committee on Corporation Associates from 2001 to 2004 and is currently chair of its Finance and Grants subcommittee. He previously chaired its Education Subcommittee and has been active in the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council's education subcommittee. He serves as company representative, board member and treasurer of the Coalition for the Commercial Application of Superconductors. He is an affiliate member of the Association of University Technology Transfer Managers, is currently vice-chair of the Industrial Research Institute-External Technology Directors Network and is a past chair of the Directors of Industrial Research-Analytical Group.
Bob earned a B.S. Chemistry degree from Lafayette College and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts.

Javier is located in Barcelona, Spain and responsible for the Technology Partnerships of the company in Europe, including, joint development agreements, and research projects partnering with European research centers and universities. He is also responsible for the government contracting activities in Europe that involves participation in public funded programs (VIIFP or national or regional programs), and licensing opportunities throughout Europe.
He has been with the Company for over thirteen years and served in various managerial R&D assignments. Prior to his present role, Javier served as Manager of Business Development within Corporate Technology Partnerships at the Corporate Headquarters located in Allentown, PA. Previously, he was the R&D Manager at Carburos Metalicos as well as General Manager for MATGAS which involves a R&D partnership with the Spanish Council for Research and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has experience in projects on new materials, hydrogen storage, carbon dioxide production, purification and applications as well as food and water applications, all of which embrace an open innovation approach working and partnering with external companies, research centers, universities and governments.
Javier received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from University of Barcelona and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and Metallurgy from The University of Barcelona. He is author of several patents, publications, and co-director of two doctoral theses.

Xiaoping Gao is located in Shanghai and is responsible for external technology collaborations, licensing and business information activities for the company in the Asian region. His experience includes working with both new and existing technology partnerships, university relationships in areas strategic to Air Products, and joint development relationships.
Xiaoping has been with the Company for over twelve years during which previously he managed the thin film and electrochemical measurement lab for the company’s Global Analytical Science department. His background and experience covers thin film properties, surface chemistry, interfacial science, in-situ measurements and electrochemistry for electronics, new materials, energy storage and transfer, water and nano technologies.
Xiaoping received his B.S. degree in Physics, and an M.S. degree in Chemical Physics from The University of Science and Technology of China and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Purdue University. He has conducted postdoctoral work at The University of Utah and at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) where he gained experience in micro and semiconductor electrochemistry. He is the author of 60 papers as well as book chapters in the areas of molecular interactions, surface chemistry and physics and in-situ measurements at electrochemical interfaces.

Licensing Focus Areas: Software for Managing R&D
Fritz obtained a B.A degree from Bloomfield College in 1976, and a Ph.D. in physical-organic chemistry from Yale University in 1982. After working for several chemical companies, he joined Air Products as an R&D chemist in 1993. He spent many years developing a variety of commercially successful products in support of our Epoxy Additives and related businesses. In 2006 he became the Manager of Intellectual Assets for the corporation. In that role he has designed and implemented new software to improve our intellectual asset management processes, managed the activities of our business' Intellectual Asset Management Teams, and implemented a curriculum to teach our professionals basic concepts of intellectual property law and IA management so as to improve the value of the corporation's intangible assets.
In his career as a chemist, Fritz authored nearly 20 patents, many scientific papers, and a monograph on the chemistry of polymers used in paints and coatings that was published by the Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology. He won several awards, including the George Baugh Heckel, Mattiello Lectureship and the Roon awards from the FSCT, and the European Coatings Award. He has also taught numerous courses on coatings technology for working professionals in the field.
