Corning F. Painter

Senior Vice President
Corporate Strategy, Technology and Supply Chain

Corning F. Painter was appointed senior vice president, Corporate Strategy and Technology, in July 2011, giving him leadership responsibility for Air Products’ Corporate Strategy, Technology, Marketing and Sustainability organizations. He assumed additional responsibility for Supply Chain, including Energy and Materials, Global Engineering, Global Operations and Continuous Improvement, when he was appointed to his current position in October 2011. Mr. Painter is a member of the company’s Corporate Executive Committee.

Mr. Painter joined Air Products in 1984 as a participant in the company’s Career Development Program and subsequently progressed through a variety of commercial and operating positions. In 1992 he joined the Electronics Division, where he led the company’s MEGASYS™ on-site services business and semiconductor business development department. In 1996 Mr. Painter relocated to Austin, Texas, where he managed the Mid-America electronics business, and in 2000 he was appointed general manager of the European Electronics Division. He relocated to Asia in 2002 as the regional vice president for Air Products Asia Electronics. In 2004 Mr. Painter was appointed regional vice president, Asia Electronics and additionally was named chairman of Air Products San Fu―a majority-owned joint venture company in Taiwan. He was named vice president and general manager, Global Electronics, in October 2006 and subsequently relocated to the United States after 11 years overseas.

Mr. Painter was born in 1962 in Orange, N.J. He received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1984 and is a Certified Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.
