Energy Businesses
David J. Taylor was appointed vice president, Energy Businesses in January 2005. He is responsible for the company’s global sale of equipment business and the management and development of Air Products’ businesses in the energy sector, including power, hydrocarbon fuels, renewables, liquefied natural gas, gas-to-liquids projects and large air separation units.
Mr. Taylor joined Air Products in 1980 as a participant in the company’s Career Development Program and held a variety of commercial positions within the Process Gas Division. From 1988-1995 he held management positions within the company’s Environmental and Energy Systems Division, where he was involved with the development of large energy projects. In 1995 Mr. Taylor transferred to Air Products Singapore Pte Ltd as general manager, where he started up the company’s industrial gas business in Singapore. He returned to the U.S. in 2000 as global commercial director–amines for the Industrial Chemicals Division and was appointed vice president and general manager of the Division in 2002. Mr. Taylor was named vice president, large ASU (air separation units) businesses in 2003 prior to assuming his current position.
Mr. Taylor received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering and economics in 1978 and an M.S. degree in industrial administration in 1980, both from Carnegie Mellon University. He also completed a Management Development Course at the University of Chicago in 1994.
