Vice President and Treasurer
George G. Bitto was appointed vice president, treasurer and chief risk officer of Air Products in March 2010. In this position, he oversees the treasury, tax, economics,
and corporate risk management functions, with responsibility for the company’s capital and liquidity management, corporate finance, risk management and insurance, financial/tax planning and analysis, and pension asset management.
Mr. Bitto joined Air Products in 1987 as a participant in the company’s Career Development Program and held a variety of analyst and management positions within the controllership and treasury organizations. In 2000 he was appointed general manager of the company’s North America Liquid Bulk business. Mr. Bitto returned to the finance organization where he was named controller for the Chemicals Group in 2002, and vice president and controller for the Gases and Equipment Group in 2004. In 2006 Mr. Bitto was named vice president and treasurer of Air Products.
Mr. Bitto holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Villanova University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Before joining Air Products, Mr. Bitto worked for General Electric where he graduated from their Technical Marketing Program and held various positions in their sales and marketing organizations.
Mr. Bitto is a Certified Management Accountant and serves on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown and the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Villanova School of Engineering.
