Regional Vice President-Tonnage Gases
Europe and Middle East
Howard Castle-Smith was appointed regional vice president of Tonnage Gases for Europe and Middle East in October 2008. He is responsible for the leadership, development and implementation of business strategy for the company’s Tonnage Gases business in these regions.
Mr. Smith joined Air Products in 1985 as a proposal engineer in the U.K. He has held various domestic and international positions within the Industrial Gases Division, including general manager, Tonnage Gases in Rotterdam and most recently vice president, Tonnage Gases for Asia, based in Shanghai.
Mr. Smith was born in 1959 in the U.K. He studied as an undergraduate at Cambridge University, U.K., where he earned a master’s degree in engineering in 1980.
