Vice President
Energy and Materials
Laurie K. Stewart was named vice president, Energy and Materials, in March 2009. She is responsible for managing all aspects of global procurement and strategic sourcing efforts, which includes energy, capital, corporate and raw materials. She also manages the Corporate Real Estate and General Services organizations.
Ms. Stewart joined Air Products in 2003 as vice president and treasurer, and in 2006 she was named vice president and controller of Tonnage Gases, Equipment and Energy (TGEE). In 2008 Ms. Stewart became vice president of Global Decision Support before assuming her current position.
Prior to joining Air Products, Ms. Stewart spent 12 years at Marathon Oil Company in a broad range of financial assignments, including financial planning, tax planning, auditing, accounting, and treasury. Most recently, she was vice president and treasurer for Pennzoil-Quaker State Company (before Shell Oil acquired it in late 2002). Ms. Stewart’s financial experience includes tax planning, debt/capital markets, strategic planning, corporate finance, structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, pension and benefits management, and international finance. Her broad international experience covers Europe, South America, Asia and the former Soviet Union.
Ms. Stewart was born in Beaverton, Oregon. She holds a B.S.B.A. degree in finance from Bowling Green University and studied graduate business topics for two years with professors at the University of Chicago and MIT. Ms. Stewart also is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
