Thomas J. Ward

Global Business Support Services

Thomas J. Ward was appointed vice president, Global Business Support Services, in July 2011. He is responsible for leading Air Products’ support services for Human Resources, Finance, Customer Engagement, Procurement, Order Management and Delivery Scheduling.

Mr. Ward joined Air Products in 1981 as a development engineer in the Applied Research and Development group. He subsequently held a variety of product management, global marketing and general management positions within the company’s gases businesses. Mr. Ward was named business director of SAP in 2001, during which time he oversaw the first four releases of SAP, an enterprise-wide business software solution. In 2004 he was appointed vice president, Integrated Supply Chain. Mr. Ward led the successful integration of BOC’s Polish industrial gases and equipment business following the company’s acquisition in January 2007 and was named vice president, North America Merchant Gases, later that year. In 2010 Mr. Ward was appointed vice president, Enterprise Platform Renewal, where he was responsible for refreshing the overall enterprise design for the company by developing lower cost approaches, implementing contemporary technologies and methods, improving the customer experience, and integrating acquisitions and best practices.

Mr. Ward was born in 1959 in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. He received a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering in 1981 and an M.B.A. in 1986, both from Lehigh University.
