About Hydrogen
A non-toxic gas, hydrogen is the third most abundant element on Earth and is concentrated in water and hydrocarbons. Found at concentrations of about 0.0001 percent in the air, it is the lightest of all the elements. Hydrogen is a major feedstock for bitumen upgrading and refining, and enables the production of cleaner burning transportation fuels.

Hydrogen is also an energy source. As interest in alternative fuels grows, hydrogen is one of the key fuels being considered because it is renewable, abundant, efficient, and produces no emissions. As the world's largest supplier of merchant hydrogen and an industry leader in hydrogen fuel infrastructure, Air Products is in the forefront of the development of hydrogen energy technologies. Air Products is working to bring safe, low-cost hydrogen production to the marketplace through participation in a number of demonstration projects in the U.S. and Europe.
